Walter “Wally” Robertson returns to as editor

Walter “Wally” Robertson, has returned Bandon, a familiar face around town has officially embarked on a new journey as a local news reporter for The Bandonian. Yesterday marked his first day on the job and Wally hit the ground running, reporting his inaugural story live from the windy Bandon coastline  

Wally is no stranger to the community having grown up in Bandon and participated in many local events over the years. After spending the decade working as a sports announcer along the Oregon, Wally returned home to Bandon to begin a new chapter in his career with The Bandonian. His first story was a report on the effects of this week’s high surf and strong coastal winds which have been stirring up the waters off the Bandon coastline, Standing near Face Rock microphone at hand Wally they delivered a live report for The Bandonian, speaking with a smile as the waves crashed against the shore behind him. 

Wally is also know for his unique topical imaging “‘wit Wally” a topical cartoon strip.

When I asked about his new role, Wally said, I’m excited to be back in Bandon and to report on the stories that matter to our community.  It’s been a dream of mine to bring the news to the people Bandon, and I am honored to have the opportunity to do just that.
